Ok I just had my iPhone 3G plugged into my MacBook Pro while tethering (MBP plugged in as well) and in about an hour or so, it went from about half the battery power to under 20%, all while plugged in! What's the deal? How can my phone be plugged in and LOOSE power?

Running iOS4 if that makes a difference.

I have something similar, after updating my phone to iOS4, my iPhone 3GS loses all it's charge after 24 hours while completely off. It can't even last 12 hours on standby in airplane mode. If I actually use it (even with push off, manual fetch, bluetooth off) it can't even last me until lunch time!

With 3.X, I was able to last 2 days with moderate usage. I'm trying to figure out what to do besides restoring from new. There are still some data and game saves I don't want to lose.
