3G Sim on iPhone 2G

While waiting for my iPhone 3GS I got a cheap $40 iPhone 2G. I am wanting to put a sim from the "3" network which is 3G in it. It is unlocked. When I put it in it states "No Service" can I get it to work?

Here in Denmark we too have the carrier 3 and because they only support the 3G network, it wont work with iPhone 2G. So I doubt you'll get it working with that carrier..

OK thanks. I would just like it even in Roaming it is Jailbroken and Unlocked.

Unless 3 in Australia got a carrier-partner, I don`t think that`s possible. Sry if I somehow misunderstood your question
