So many complaints about 3G speed, I thought I'd test mine and see how it compares to other's.
I'm in London and have pretty good 3G coverage in most places. I ran the test from home in Sth London and had the following results.
Turn your Wi-Fi off to run the 3G test and obviously back on to run the Wi-Fi test.
I wasn't too concerned about the edge speeds, but you can also test edge on the website

Go to this website via your iPhone and post your results and Location :-

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5C1 Safari/525.20)

Umm. Yes, thank you. There's also an App Store where you can buy games.

3G vs EDGE

My EDGE is better than my 3g!?! These screen shots were taking after the 2.02 update... No, this is not edited with photoshop. This is the actual test...

Jessica Smith will be getting excited.

I'm in the UK too and for me 3g basically doesn't work at all.....on iPhone that is. Nokias, Palms and Berrys are fine.

in fact normal gprs signal strength on Iphone is rubbish compared to the others too.

Got these results at home.

I fail to understand why people test and/or post their wifi speeds. Everyone's ISP/router speed/router brand/distance to router/interference factors/etc are completely different. So who cares?

So that they somehow feel validated that they're getting the max amount of speed they can for a device?
