Hey all,
Just got my iPhone 3G delivered yesterday. So far, so good, except for one very annoying thing.
I've had a TomTom GO 910 GPS device, which includes Bluetooth handsfree functionality, for a long time now, and used it with a number of phones -- Treo 680, Razr, Blackberry Curve, even an original-generation iPhone.
But now, the TomTom stubbornly refuses to pair with the new iPhone 3G. I initiate a pairing on the TomTom, open Bluetooth in the system prefs for the iPhone, and the TomTom sees the iPhone and asks if I want to pair. I say yes. It tells me to enter 0000 as the password when asked, and I do so on the iPhone. It then goes about "checking phone features," but craps out at 40 per cent done, with an error message.
If I choose "try again," it just repeats this process.
If I choose not to try again, it says "the required features could not be found for this phone" and it fails, obviously.
My iPhone, meanwhile, says it's paired successfully with the TomTom. But the two don't work together, and no pairing information is saved on the TomTom.
Anyone else having similar problems with the 3G, with TomTom or with other Bluetooth devices? The only other BT device I have on hand to test it with is the Apple Bluetooth headset, which paired up just fine and works just fine.
I find it weird that it worked just fine with the original iPhone, which should have had about the same Bluetooth stack as the 3G.
Any help, or similar experiences, would be appreciated.
