I just did a test myself on WIFI and I can say that on every web site I got the same speed as the 3GS with my 3G 122% faster then 3G NO WAY.

So, I ran these tests on my new 3gs, over wifi in the home.
I'm about 40 ft from the router.

I get nearly EXACTLY the same times as listed on the anandtech article, for the 3gs, some are even FASTER.

So you link to a page that shows the 3G S as significantly faster than 3G, people agree with the findings on the page, and that makes you think that the 3G is just as fast as the 3G S? Am I missing something?

For what it's worth, my 3G S is faster than my wife's 3G for pretty much everything, and page loading is much faster.

Every website I test on wifi loads faster on the 3G S.
Every application I open opens faster on the 3G S.
Every game I run runs faster on the 3G S.

I went to the Apple store and tested my 3GS vs one of there 3g phones on the same wifi and mine loaded all the web pages a lot faster than the 3g did, so yes its faster.

Sorry dude, you have to accept your driving an old clunker. I think Obama will give your $4500 if you trade it in on a new model. HA!

I compared NYTIMES.com load times on 3G and 3GS, and the S is 8 seconds faster. Then once loaded, scroll performance is no comparison.

My finding: Your broadband connection is faster than AnandTech's. LOL.

If you're really hell bent on proving that a 400 MHz ARM11 is just as fast as a 600 MHz A8, then get yourself one of each and test them on exactly the same connection with the same pages. You haven't proven anything except that you don't really understand how to test something scientifically.

At least compared to my first generation iPhone, the 3GS is quite noticeably quicker in everything it does. Everything.
