hi, I'd like to know if the microsim card is included in the wifi+3g version? Do customers get the card in the package? If they do, if I buy the 3g version in another country, should I get a microsim card from an AT&T store to have the 3G service in America? thx:D

so how can I sign up for the service right on ipad? Do I have to get a card first?

oh i see. thx. so if I carry a ipad 3g from another country, i should go to AT&T and get a sim card?

Yes, you can buy an ATT microsim for $15. You order directly on the ATT website. You need a US Visa and address to sign up for service.

Verizon does have 3G... it doesn't have GSM (even though the SIM supports GSM and so does the BBS2). Not sure what you mean by no 3G.

The SIM card for Verizon is for roamning so I am nor sure it will work in an iPad. Also an iPad needs a microSIM so you would need to trim it down.

Verizon has roaming agreement with it's 49% partner, Vodaphone. On it's "world phone" it has usually European/Asian UMTS bands 900/2100 and sometimes had quad band EDGE. It's just depends on the phone.

So in theory, you could cut down the BLackberry Sim that's included in the Verizon world phones. Sign up for international blakberry roaming. Get the APN that Verizon uses internationally and put it into ur iPad.

Cut mini sim down to microSIM and you can roam internationally, although I am sure the roaming fees are outrageous.

But there's no chance you will get 3G speeds in the USA. Only in Europe and Asia/Australia. I am sure Verizon defaults to CDMA if it detects you are in the states anyways.

Just to be clear - international roaming. It doesn't work in the US.

Buying the iPad on the Apple Store Online on Spain, they allow you to choose if you want that it comes with microsim of Vodafone or Orange (two of the communication companies which offer 3G connection here).
