Is performance any better on 4.2? I finally went from 4.0 to 4.1 last week and it runs a bit better, but it's still pretty slow overall.

I'm curious if 4.2 had any 3g performance upgrades come along with it, otherwise I'm not gonna bother updating.

Hi there

I can recommend it....

The over all performance of the 3G is awesome! Almost like being back at 3.1.3. All applets loads faster, even my Tomtom app is working much better....

I JB with redsnow, and enabled wallpaper and multitasking!

How's the multitasking working for you?

I tried it originally on 4.0 and it was so slugging that I turned it off.

Yeah I read that, but I think it's for the baseband previous to this one. Oh well, at least I have a 1st gen JB/unlock sitting around that I can use for the time being.

Cool cool, do you like the performance?

My device is lightning, i am enjoying it way better now... :apple:

Heh, it's hard to be impartial now that I know it's bricked as a phone for the time being. But I guess it's pretty fast, yeah.

A JB iphone 3G on 4.2 with multitasking enabled and your perfrormance is lightning?
Ok, I highly doubt that. Or you probably never used a 3GS or iphone 4 before to actually notice the "lightning" difference.

Well. If i compare it to 4.0 or 4.1. The performance is great, awesome in fact.

Wish i could by an Iphone 4 now, but not yet.

I can just thank Apple for this update, as my phone is really much faster than it used to be :D
