3GS 3.0 i need to unlock it

I bought a 3GS yesterday..

i think its an old stock coz the firmware is 3.0 and modem baseband is 4.26

I need to unlock it so i can use it to another carrier..

can anyone help me?? do i need to restore to 3.1.3?? then use redsn0w or spirit??

here are the particulars:

Iphone 3GS Brandnew
32gb
firmware: 3.0 (7A431)
modem baseband: 4.26.08

did you have any luck with those jailbreaks? i have the same situation, but none of those things work because its an old bootrom. i just simply want to upgrade to 3.1.2 or 3.1.3. please let me know if you get advice to fix it
