Here is my black 3gs

version: 4.3.1(8g4)
modem firmware: 5.16.02
bootrom: 359.3.2

Used sn0wbreeze, it stucked at recover mode. Fixrecover, recboot, none of them can kick that out.
It has been black solid screen for 3 days.

Using iMac has the same problem.

f0recast reads nothing

What else can I do?

Your help is highly appreciate !

Can you tell us more? We're you try to jb? Did it happen suddenly? Details help!

I want to use with tmobile :p

used tiny umbrella to restore but it did not reboot after restored and stucked in itune's recovery mode.

You use Itunes to restore firmware and not Tiny Umbrella. Put your phone into DFU mode and restore it by using Itunes.

I use TU combined with itune to prevent any unexpected errors codes :p
It works, but it can't reboot after restored as I stated on previous posts.

the phone has been black screen for 3 days already. Nothing can kick out that recovery mode.
I was even took out its battery to discharge any statics that could be, but still did not do any good :(

Using TU's TSS server running while restoring fw if you have blob save. I am not sure if you have SHSH blob save for the firmware you want to restore or not.

Anyway, I believe Apple still sign 4.1 firmware for 3GS, you might want to downgrade it to 4.1 to see if you can bring your phone out of recovery mode.

I do not see any saved SHSH blob. It keeps saying can't find "shsh".

So, I can just go ahead down grade even in that black screen recovery mode?
And how do I down grade please.

Thank you!

Assume your phone is in DFU mode which show black screen, and it is ready for restore. Otherwise, bring it back out to recovery mode, then put it back into DFU mode again.

1. download 3gs 4.1 fw to your PC
2. TU on your PC, seen like you have it already.
3. Open Itunes, shift + restore and point to 4.1.
4. Use TU to exit recovery when you get 1015 error at the end.

If you use sn0wbreeze, then you will not get 1015 error at the end. Apple official 4.1 fw will result in 1015 error because of baseband discrepancy between what you currently have on your phone vs what on official 4.1. Eitherway, it is fixable.

Also your going to have to install 6.15 ipad baseband to unlock instructions and jailbreak instructions are in Iclarified.
So, after downgrade, I have to install 6.15 baseband?

Thanks

That is correct because Ultrasn0w doesn't work with 05.16 baseband. So, your only option to unlock this phone is to install an Ipad baseband 06.15. By installing this ipad baseband, you will kill the GPS on this phone.

Make sure that you check the boxes for "Install Cydia" and "Install Ipad Basebands" separately, otherwise, redsnow will crash immediately while trying to fetch the ipad baseband.

You need to install cydia the first time around, then install ipad baseband the next time around, only if you're getting the immediate crash while fetching ipad baseband.

I just unlocked my friend's iphone 3G on 4.2.1 today.

Thanks for the warning!

Have not touch this 3gs yet. Will do and report back.

That was I have been thinking....may be better to wait for new solution to come out :p
