3gs and Sony bluetooth issue

I installed a new Sony MEX-BT2600 in my boat yesterday and everything paired fine between the phone and receiver. After triple checking my manuals for the Sony, they are definitely paired properly but I can get no sound while playing ipod or from the phone itself. I received a call while trying to resolve the issue and the caller could hear me through the receiver but i could not hear them. Any ideas? BTW-I can play a CD or FM through the stereo just fine.
