Hi all, I couldn't find a similar thread by searching, so here goes. I have an iPhone 3Gs brand new out of the box today after it was replaced under warranty. I went home to restore from my most recent backup on my Powerbook G4 running mac OS 10.4.11. The iPhone was updated to the most current version of iOS at the store (4.3.3) and now I'm receiving an error message when I open iTunes saying that iTunes cannot use this iPhone because the version of iTunes is too old to be used with the current iOS version, yet it is the newest that will run on OS 10.4. I have tried looking for the actual backup file itself under ~/Library/Application Support/Mobilesync/Backup, but it seems that the backup file does not reside there under a pre-leopard OS. I have a new iMac as well that I can open a current version of iTunes on if I can just extract the backup from the Powerbook.
I suppose my questions are this:
Does anyone know the location of the iPhone backup under OS 10.4? If so, can I simply copy it to the proper location on the new iMac and restore that way?
If not, is it possible for me to downgrade the phone to work with the older iTunes software again?
Thanks in advance for all your help!
