For the last day, my iPhone 3GS has been running really warm and the battery discharges very quickly. The screen is also very dim.

The problem is coinciding with my work email server being down for the last day. Is it possible my phone is constantly churning trying to retrieve email causing the heat and battery problem? I'm not sure why that would be since it's an exchange account and supposed to be push.

I'm hoping when the problem with the email server at work is resolved, my problem will be solved as well. But is there any way to prevent the battery discharge problem until that occurs? Is there any chance the two things are not related?

I'm worried.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.
