Short story: kid drooled on phone. Water sensors in headphone jack & bottom dock port are all white. Backlight wouldn't come on. Used the low setting on the blow dryer and the backlight seemed to be fixed for about 30 minutes, then went off again. Used the blow dryer again and now there is what looks to be condensation under the screen in the top left hand. Question: How do I fix the condensation & the backlight issue?
Details: So I took a nap this afternoon and my kid got a hold of my phone and slobbered on it. When I initially woke up it didn't look wet so I didn't think anything was wrong, so I checked my email, and everything was fine (backlight came on, everything looked normal). But 30 minutes afterwards I tried to check my phone again and the backlight wouldn't come on! Anyway, I took it out of its case and it was then I realized it was wet beause the back was all slobbered, so I wiped it clean and used the blow dryer on low, blowing on the top (with the sim card slot out) and the bottom. I checked both water damage sensors and they are both still white. The blow dryer thing seemed to work because about 30 minutes into it the backlight came back on. Just for good measure I decided to turn the phone off and repeat the blow dryer thing, and as I was trying to put my screen protector back on I noticed I had some mist in the upper right hand corner under the screen. HOW DO I FIX THIS MIST THING?!
I made an appointment at the apple store for tomorrow morning, but I'm really nervous considering it might be water damage what with the slobbering and stuff (even though the water sensors are intact I've heard there are internal sensors...could those be tripped without the headphone/dock ones being tripped?)
Picture (sorry for grainy picture w/ screen reflect - took it with webcam...but the phone is off and I circled the mist area)
Thank you for any help...!
