According to some "other" Apple news site, there's a rumour that the 3GS will be put to rest next week when Apple introduces the iPhone 5/6/whatever

Do you think that's a good idea?
Personally, I think they should sell these 3GS as prepaids (maybe $150 outright); but on the other hand, the 3GS has a hard time keeping up with the latest version(s) of iOS, so it might not provide the "full" Apple experience users expect.

Time to move on. Bury the 3GS and call it a day.

With an 8GB 4 to replace it, now all current devices will be Retina-compliant.

And hey, it's 3 years old. Most Androids die 3 months after introduction. Just talk to those folks who bought whatever the latest Moto Razr before the Maxx came out. Wasn't that about 3 days? :D
