Not sure why, but my 4s is much slower on my home WiFi network than my 3Gs. Yes, the 4s opens the initial page faster, but the 3gs loads the page first. When on 3G (not inside my house), the 4s loads the page faster than on WiFi, and it is faster than the 3gs.

My home WiFi is an 802.11g. Any thoughts or opinions or troubleshooting?

That's odd.. but I can def say I'm way impressed with how fast my 3GS is online after the iOS5 update, our iPhone4 is no quicker online whether on 3G or WiFi which is odd considering the better processor and ram. After iOS5 my 3GS is night and day better when using Safari compared to before even on 3G, especially with how smooth it handles multiple tabs open and the "background" link option which is very cool.
