Has anyone noticed their phone freezing more than usual on iOS4?

I upgraded my 3GS to iOS4 a few days after it was released and since then is has frozen and needed a hard-reset 4 times. I only ever had to do that once with in the whole year of owning it until I updated.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? If so, does anyone have a solution?

Mine (now my wife's) 3GS has been freezing non stop since the iOS 4 update....waiting on a fix for this as well.

Mine 3GS hasn't frozen once since the update. It's faster, if anything.

My iPhone 4 freezes sometimes when I plug in the headphones.

It may or may not be related to your problem.

Thanks for the feedback.
Hopefully the next update they put out will take care of this. I usually find mine freezes when I play music and text and browse the internet all at once, maybe its too much for the phone to handle? Although i highly doubt that.

Yeah, both my parents 3GS have been having issues since the iOS4 update.

Post about them on the Apple Discussion forums..

That way, they may actually get noticed and addressed in the next update.

Mine froze a lot, I ended up getting a replacement (related to a different problem). It doesn't look good for iOS4 does it...

Did you restore it from a backup of your 3.1.3 device after upgrading?

My phone has run without a hitch after setting it up as new.

That's not always an option. Sometimes, people need all of their archived texts, missed calls, calender appointments, bookmarked web pages etc.

Hmm.... Okay. Well calendars and bookmarks are backed up with the rest of your info when you sync. I've never had a text that I cared about losing and I can think of no reason I'd need to retain my call history. Hell, I'm sure a lot of people are happy to see it go. Not saying you don't have your reasons, of course.

My 3GS has been slightly more buggy/sluggish since iOS4 was installed.

To be fair (and this isn't just aimed at you), but OS4 is a new OS, as was with 2.0 and 3.0, it was buggy and often hung. It might not be a case of 3Gs at fault, but simply OS4, maybe wait for 4.1 to come out and see how it goes. If the issue is unbearable, you can try to downgrade to 3.2.
