3GS just died....

So I 'm talking on my 3GS and hung up, put the phone in my pocket and went to go out in my car. As I'm leaving, I decided to check my phone....It does not turn on. I went back inside to my computer and iTunes doesn't bring it up....held down power & sleep buttons toegether...still nothing...WTF//??? It was just working...grrrr

Anyone one else with this problem? I just made an appt. to bring it in to the Apple Store

Just try to be sure there is no image without backlit on the screen, I had similar problem. Then I realized it was just the backlit.

You've left out some info. Does it take a charge? Did the battery die? Is it jailbroken?

There is absolutely no sign of any life...never jailbroken, won't charge, won't beep and nothing recognizes it...basically a paperweight at this point....
