I think I know the answer to this question, but I would like a smart persons reply anyway.
I had a 3gs iphone with the new bootrom before the 4.0 came out and it was jailbroken with 3.12., loved it. I had my "shsh" on file with Saurik.
My Iphone was giving me problems so I had to ship it back to Apple and they replaced it with a new iphone 3gs, but with 4.0 installed, rats,. My question is, if I have 3.12 on Sauriks servers with a different Iphone, my new Iphone will have a whole new set of id numbers and identifiers on it, correct? There is no way my new iphone 3gs with new bootrom will be able to load my 3.12 from Sauriks servers on to it, am I correct in this assumption?

Knowing the answer, but hoping for another solution to downgrade to 3.12.

3gs downgrade

I did try to downgrade, have changed my host file and everything, but it gives me a 3901, I think if i remember correctly, error.

Without the SHSH blobs you are screwed. If they replaced it with a refurb, there is a small chance that the SHSH blobs are saved for that phone, but probably not.
