Out of nowhere today my 3GS decided to stop getting signal of any kind. My signal strength just shows one bar with no carrier name and will just say searching... or no service when I try to use it. It will occasionally pick up for less than a minute but then goes back to not working.
I have tried a restore, reset, and removing/cleaning the sim all to no avail. I went into an Apple store today but while I was waiting the phone decided to start working and worked long enough that I thought it was going to stay working, so I cancelled my appointment and left.
I guess since it seems my phone is pretty much unfixable, I'm probably going to have to get a new one. I'm not trying to pay $450 for a brand new 3GS and I am not renewing my contract to get an iPhone 4 for $200 when the iPhone 5 will hopefully be out in 2-3 months. I was told that I may be sold a replacement, but does anyone know exactly how much that would cost? My apple care is up so it will all be out of pocket.
