I have a 3GS with the old bootrom. It's jailbroken and unlocked and running iOS 4.0.1. My baseband is 05.13.04

I would like to bring it up to iOS 5.0 or 5.0.1. Is it possible to do this and keep the unlock? If so, please provide details.

Thanx.

Only Sn0wbreeze can make a custom IPSW for 5.0.1 and preserve your baseband

But, Ultrasn0w cannot unlock any basebands on 5.0.1, so just wait for new tools

Make a custom firmware for 5.0 - old bootrom 3GS' can flash to custom firmwares without SHSHs. The new redsn0w even includes the ability to make custom 5.0 firmwares w/o SHSHs for the old bootrom 3GS' (before you would've needed to use something like pwnagetool or sn0wbreeze).

Or you can do the SSH thing to get ultrasn0w to work w/ 5.0.1 I guess
