I would like to use my 3GS free attwifi access to create a bluetooth personal hotspot for my iPad while on the road. Is this doable?

I've tried testing by connecting the iPhone to my home wifi network, turning on the personal hotspot, and pairing the iPhone and iPad. However I'm not getting the "blue bar" notification on the iPhone for a personal hotspot connection, nor any internet access on the iPad. I do have internet access on the iPhone.

Can't be done. The WiFi in the iPhone can only do one at a time , i.e. you can either receive (be connected to attwifi) or broadcast (personal hotspot) but not both at the same time.

Not gonna happen, unfortunately. I hear they have been working on it though.

One note: incoming is wifi; personal hotspot is bluetooth.
