3gs spirit jailbreak...idiot erased all contents and settings want to load 3.1.3 back

Exactly what it says....friend erased all content and settings on his iphone 3gs before trying to sell....now phone wont boot past apple logo

I did the recovery mode then plugged into itunes and can get it to recognize it for a restore...tried to restore 3.1.3 and its not letting me error 3194.

I understand apple is not signing this os anymore but its the same OS that is currently on the phone. Is this because the jailbreak technically makes itunes think that phone is upgraded and recognizes it as a downgrade?

trying to help the kid stay on 3.0 so he can jailbreak.

Without hashes saved, it's 4.0.1 firmware.

Good news, a jailbreak and unlock for iOS 4 is expected soon
