I have a 3GS which isn't working at all.

The battery's not charging and it's out of warranty...

Is it worth asking to get it replaced? If so how much would it cost to get fixed?

Or should I just buy an iPod touch instead?

Thanks

Did you break it yourself? Or is it dead because it's defective somehow?

Take it to an Apple Store. Make an appointment at Genius Bar, and show it to them. Even though it's out of warranty, there's a chance they'll help you out if it's dead because of a defect.

Of course, if you damaged it yourself (i.e. drop damage, water damage), then forget it.

well it's not worth!!if you got the money you can wait for the iphone 5.

He didn't say he needed a phone, he was inquiring about fixing a 3GS. I make this assumption because he offered up the alternative to buy an iPod.

With all that said, as the other posted suggested go to a Genius and worst case you get a quote for repairs and can compare that to the cost of an iPod Touch. I haven't looked lately to see what they're selling for on ebay/craigslist/etc.

-3GS battery problems

My iPhone 3GS had battery problems and I took it to the Apple Store and even though it was out of warranty, for $85 they gave me a new one. It is still a great phone. Let's see you do that with an out of warranty android phone.:D

Yeah true, the screen is cracked but the phone isn't charging I think.

Gonna buy an iPod... but do I get the 4g or wait until the 5g is out? Hmmmm
