Hey guys my 3GS touchscreen died, and the earliest I can get an appointment at the apple store is on Sunday. (just freaking great.)

A full restore fixes the screen for a few hours and it degrades back to not being able to 'slide to unlock'. Idk why or how this can even happen.

Can i pop my Sim into my old 1G iphone and get it to work? Will I run into problems with At&ts text and data plan? (USA).

Thanks for your help.

Pop it in, and all will be good, apart from 3G S, but yeah, no problems, might need to activate original iPhone via iTunes.

You might need to swap out the $30.00 iPhone data plan for the $20.00 data plan. But then you will be good to go. Then when you get your 3GS working again, You will be able to swap sim cards and it just will say authentication.

This, is impossible.

Full restore without restoring backup, setup as new phone?
