Guys
i have iphone 3GS running ios 5.0.1 wid bandbase 05.16.05.
it is an AT&T iphone n now i want to unlock it.

is it possible ???
by downgrading or upgrading ???

There is no software or hardware unlock for your baseband
If this is not a new phone and you post the 1st five characters of your serial #, you might have an option to install the iPad baseband.

But read all the warnings and consequences as using the iPad baseband cannot ever be undone.

This dude really needs to fully understand everything before even attempting this !

Research and research some more !

since my iphone is locked i dont think i will be having any problem with the concequences provided by Dev Team in that link.

Moreover since i am a beginner can anyone provide me with a good link for the best tutorial ???


which software to use ??? Snowbreeze ??? Redsnow ?? to get the ipad firmware ???
as i think both software can do the same work...
Will the jailbreak be tethered or untethered???

Moreover will it work on new bootrom iphone's and on ios 5.0.1 ???

i am just confused with 1 thing...i m on ios 5.0.1...so do i need to update to ios 5.1 before updating the baseband though redsnow custom firmware of ios 5.1 or i can do directly...by creating a ios 5.0.1 custom ipsw and then updating...

moreover do i need to save shsh or nething for ios 5.0.1 ???

Clear this doubt please...

If you update to 5.1, installing the iPad baseband will be a waste of time since Ultrasn0w is not yet compatible with 5.1 firmware.

Redsn0w-Jailbreak-(be sure an uncheck Install Cydia)
 
guys i hv iphone 3gs ios 4.1 i want to update it to ios 5.0.1 ma baseband is 06.15.00 i tried to restore with custom firm ware i gt error 1602 wat to do??

ERROR: The selected device doesnt support untethered options.

Pay somebody else to it is my thought in your case. $20 well spent on craigslist. This info really shouldn't be that hard to find iclarified has great info. My signature includes a jb/ul info guide. I know you want it now but I think you should learn what your doing 1st. It's time well spent.

Done with it...everything working...though I have kept location services off...
