My little Sony Ericsson is finally dying (after surviving over a minute in Patapsco river) and I'm ready to get my iPhone.

My question, is the 3Gs really worth the extra 100 dollars for someone who is not exactly the richest guy ever? :p

If the 3Gs really is that much better, I'm happy to spend the money and just not eat for a few weeks. But I wanted to ask you guys first. Thanks!

For the extra $100 you get the faster speed, better camera, other 3GS-specific features, AND an extra 8 GB of space.
The $99 iPhone 3G is only 8 GB.

Worth it.

I am getting the new one for 2 reasons. The seems to be much faster and run smoother in all of the reviews and I need the 32gb of storage.

why is this a thread?

if you want cutting edge technology, increased storage and to possibly have some of the greatest apps to come out to work with your phone.. you'll want the 3Gs

if you want an iPhone and just want to twitter and look on facebook and play a few games - get the 3G

There are oodles of threads here, reviews elsewhere, and info at the Apple web site giving you all the comparison you need. ONLY YOU CAN DECIDE IF IT'S WORTH IT TO YOU

I'm going to keep doing some looking around (I found gizmodo's review and it's pretty thorough). The S sounds like the best choice, though.

Thanks for your input!

Incidentally, you're also the only one who can prevent forest fires.

I was ready to burn Patapsco state park down when I dropped my Ericsson in the river, but it seemed like an unreasonable reaction. This means I basically saved the whole park, right?

3g

Hi Dude,

not sure if this will be helpful but, I've got the 3G version & its brilliant if you just use it as just a phone with extras we all know about. But I really want the 3G-S but due to being on contract I don't find spending the extra £££'s on a new iPhone when I'm about a 3rd through my contract.

if you use the phone for the Camera, Video, tethering & would like it faster than the current 3G then I would say get one. I just want it for the camera feature & the voice for when I'm driving. Plus there will be certain apps that will be better on the iPhone 3G-S than on the iPhone 3G.

Admittedly, this is your choice, but if you could squeeze the extra cash then do it. Plus the space is an added bonus...

Hope this helps.

Ps/ ignore the negative comments...
