Help! I screwed up a new phone I was going to JB/UL and I am looking for options!

Here's where i'm at:

New boot 3GS

Was Spirit'd & UL'd on 3.1.2 w/Tmobile

I Erased all Settings (genius move)

Tried to restore to 3.1.2 and could not.. of course

Tried to 3.1.3 and could not...

Is this because Apple will only sign (at the time of this writing)the latest 4.1?

So I am stuck.

I wonder what I should do here.. If the only thing I can do is install 4.1.. the bootrom is not hacked yet, so thats out, but should I do it anyway to get some SHSH's upped into cydia?

In sum.. what/how can I use this phone again? Thanks!

Did you ever click the make my life easier button in cydia? You need to know for sure if you have blobs saved so download tinyumbrella and query cydia for your blobs starting at 3.1.2 and work your way until you find where cydia started requesting them for you. After that we can talk about other options.

Edit: it's the baseband that isn't hack yet, not the bootrom.

Will it query cydia if I clicked erase all settings?.... what would be anything there to query?

BTW since it was Spirit'd, when I clicked the aforementioned stupid button, It went into one of those crazy Apple logo, full circle freeze things.. I can DFU and restore mode... but thats about it

gooboot: With a pwnage tool ispw.. can I get past all the ineligibility problems during a new restore?

Go HERE and download tiny. Open it and click advanced options change device/version via dropdown menu to iphone3gs 3.1.2 (7d11). Depending on the current state of your phone have it plugged in and hit the 'Save my SHSH' button. This is will cydia for a copy of your blobs and return it if it's on file. If it doesn't try the next higher firmware.

So I take it you didn't JB it so you don't know if the 'Make my life easier' button was ever push in cydia?

With pwnage tools there will not be any ineligibility problems because it will be for the current firmware, so it's eligible. The problem is updating now will lock you up of an unlock because of the baseband update.

I ran umbrella, phone is not recognized in DFU mode (idea?). I attempted to restore back to 3.1.2 and got the 3002 error while running under the 'umbrella'... so can I now assume I did not click "make my life easier?" :(

Why are you still trying to restore at this point? No you shouldn't assume that, you haven't even make it to the first step in finding out. Try putting the in recovery, I believe tiny should still detect it.

And that was for 3.1.2 correct? If it was then now you have a few choices. You can go to any firmware between 3.1.2 to 4.0 and be able to JB and unlock.

TU won't work without SHSH files cached. Check "Advanced Options" and try saving a SHSH 3.1.2 to 4.0.2. Were you able to save any?

Yep - selected for 3GS 3.1.2 / Cydia

So Now do I just try and restore while all this is still running?

It does not say "Save My SHSH" in TU?

Keep going up the firmware list next would be 3.1.3

Checked them all, none saved on this device.

Looks like you will have to wait on pwnage tools to be release. It suppose to be released Sunday but I hear they have it working for it might come sooner. Avoid updating to stock 4.1 if you want to unlock..

I'll sit tight then.

This will allow me to make a custom firmware of which version? Which will i be eligible for - 4.x?

You are always eligible for the most current firmware and that's what pwnage tools will allow you to go to and keep your unlock. It will be a burned ipsw of 4.1
