3GS with serial number 86013X413XX is it safe to use ipad baseband?

Hey guys.

I'm a little confused if the phone is unlockable.

Looking at the last 3 digits it looks like it was made in the 13 week of 2004 (doenst make sense)

But looking at the other 3 digits it seems like the phone was made in 2010 week 13 so that means its good for unlocking and ultrasn0w.

Can anyone confirm please.

Also is apple still signing 4.1?

Apple warranty check shows that the phone is definitely more than a year old.

There's a program that automatically determines whether you are on new or old baseband. Try looking it up on google.

That's not what he's asking.
He wants to know if he installs the iPad bb will his 3GS get ruined.

You are looking at it wrong, is the 3 (Year), 4 & 5th (week) numbers:
86013X413XX
So 2010 Week 13
Any 3GS dated before 2011 week 28 should be able to use the iPad BB; so I believe you are good to go on losing your GPS forever for an unlock that you could get for free from AT&T officially while keeping your GPS intact though...

for some reason I thought it was the last 3 dgits in the serial nubmer so the "413" confused me as I should have been looking at the 013 before the first alphabet.

Phone is locked to a Canadian carrier so ATT cant do much.
Dont care about gps so its all good from my side.

Also is apple signing 4.1 still?
Phone is on 5.1.1 so can I just downgrade using shift + restore?

Do I need itunes 10.4

A friend is bringing it over tomorrow so I dont want him to pay $50
