Apple announced that they sold 3M units of Ipad mini + Ipad 4 in the first weekend as compare to 1.5M wifi only Ipad 3 sales back in March during Ipad 3 launch.

Apple® today announced it has sold three million iPads in just three days since the launch of its new iPad® mini and fourth generation iPad—double the previous first weekend milestone of 1.5 million Wi-Fi only models sold for the third generation iPad in March. The Wi-Fi + Cellular versions of both iPad mini and fourth generation iPad will ship in a few weeks in the US and in many more countries later this year.
“Customers around the world love the new iPad mini and fourth generation iPad,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “We set a new launch weekend record and practically sold out of iPad minis. We're working hard to build more quickly to meet the incredible demand.”

Back in March, Ipad 3 was launch in 10 countries with both Wifi and LTE models. Ipad Mini and Ipad 4 launch is Wifi only and in 34 countries. When Apple announced the Ipad 3 launch weekend sales, they did not break down the wifi vs LTE sales number and just announced a total of 3M unit. So now we know the sales breakdown in Ipad 3 launch weekend is 50:50 between wifi and LTE model. So we should expect a very strong LTE sales of Mini and Ipad 4 in a couple weeks as well. I think it is very clear that Mini and Ipad 4 has a very strong launch. I would love to see a break down of Ipad mini vs Ipad 4 sales. But my guess is that Mini far outsell Ipad 4 given that it is a new form product.

Oh yeah.

Nexus 7 is selling close to 1 million a month.

Take that Apple. iPad Mini is a failure.

heh heh, you are trying to make a case comparing one weekend sales to 1 months sales? And remember that the "closed to 1 m a month Nexus 7 sales rate" is in a market without Mini. Can you guess what the sales number for Nexus 7 will be in the next few months where Mini is a possible choice for consumer now?)
