From my understanding the documentation says a 3rd 4k display must be plugged in to the HDMI port yet it seems this is shared with thunderbolt 5 and 6.

Is it actually required to use HDMI for a 3rd 4k display? What's the reasoning for this?

It would be desireable to plug the displays in to separate buses e.g. Port1 Port2 and Port5

If its plugged into the hdmi port it is likely going to be at 30hz. According to the apple multi display docs you linked it seems to be the only way.

I would like to know too if its possible to get the 3rd 4k display at 60hz in the final 5 and 6 displayport.
