So I just bought a unibody macbook pro. I knew it didn't have firewire 400 so I bought a griffin dock 800 cable to connect my trusty 3rd gen 40GB ipod. When I plugged it in to sync with the new computer, it acts just like it did when I tried a USB cable. it connects for a few minutes and then stops responding, freezing itunes and the ipod will not eject. I've never had a problem with firewire 400. I really don't want to buy a new ipod. Do you think a firewire 400 expresscard will work? Maybe a firewire 400 to 800 adapter with the old cable?
