I hope there is now a new standard / app submission requirement that ensures that the 3rd party app icons will be in cohesion with the new stock apps!

there is already a disconnect between stock apps and 3rd party apps:
- stock apps having that line of shine
- and more and more 3rd party apps becoming more matte

Its good that the new stock apps will be cohesive, i just hope that 3rd party apps are required to follow the design

I'm sure they will. Lots have already started to switch to the new, less glossy look, even before iOS 7 was announced.

Some of my apps, even after just simply trying out ios 7, seem to just lose their gloss automatically? I think it will be part of their ios 7 updates that we get blasted with in the fall.

Can't wait to see.
