I need the finder view "cover flow" back. I know it's been gone a long time but for me it's a new reality. I recently "upgraded" from el capitan to ventura and the worst has happened. There's no way to quickly navigate through files visually. My entire workflow is at a snails pace because of this. I absolutely detest this "gallery" view... awkward and inefficient. I am considering ditching mac altogether after 25 years because this is so disruptive that, if I'm gonna hate my user experience this much I may as well go get a PC and save thousands of dollars down the road.

Unless there's a 3rd party app anyone knows of to replace cover flow...?

GraphicConverter, but expensive if you just use if for Cover Flow.

File Cabinet Pro (with free File Cabinet Lite in App Store). A sort of Finder attached to the menu bar. It has Cover Flow.

But:

For a photo workflow, I use Icon View (for quick navigation) with QuickLook window next to it - adjust position and size so that they don't overlap. Better than Cover Flow. It is Quick Look that has opened up more ways of doing things, without being fixed to Cover Flow's view.

Thanks for your suggestions. Yes Graphic Converter is expensive for what I need. I'd be willing to spend the $40 but upgrades cost $25 & that put me off. I'll check out File Capinet Pro and your QuickLook tip.

How can we make a big stink to get cover-flow brought back?
I just moved from High-Sierra to Sequoia and my productivity now sucks without Cover-Flow.
I wish Steve's ghost would haunt the idiots who removed Cover-Flow big time.

Fortunately my old MacBook still works so I have it mount my new filesystem and I open a remote session to it so I can continue using Cover-flow until that machine dies. Sadly there is no Arm64 distribution of High-Sierra (that I know of) so I can't run it in a virtual machine.

Have you tried using Quick Look (select a file and press space). Need to fiddle a bit with windows positions on the screen (I put Finder to the left and Quick Look window to the right). I really find this better than Cover Flow. The image quality is better. As well as selecting the image to view, you can use arrow keys to move to next image. Do try it for a while before considering buying one of the apps mentioned above (or below).

If you feel you must get an app to replace Cover Flow, try Pixea or Picview from the Mac App Store. I sometimes use Pixea, but more often just Finder and Quick Look.
