3rd party battery ok?

My brothers Macbook Pro 15.4 Duo Core 2.4 GHZ battery went dead. Should he bite the bullet and just go with an Apple battery at $130 or buy a quality (if one exists) 3rd party battery?

Any advice would be appreciate it.

I wouldn't trust or recommend any battery that didn't come from Apple. While some have had good luck with them, a number have reported problems with them. This should answer most, if not all, of your battery questions:

Ive bought a couple third party batteries from amazon and i've never had problems and they last a good while. I just search the battery model and a replacement is around $30
