Anyone notice any changes with keyboards on the new ios?

I haven't noticed any changes.

Still the annoying issue when sending an image from Photos to a Messages contact where the To: field is bumped off the top when using a 3rd party keyboard. At least with Swiftkey anyway. No way to scroll to the top.

Using swiftey, when replying to a message on the lock screen using the quick reply, I have no keyboard. It's just a gray space where the keyboard should be. Nothing works to bring the keyboard up. Not having any issues using it anywhere else. Anybody else experiencing this?

I had this happen several times when not in the lock screen but that was iOS 8.0.

still just as terrible.

problems mentioned above, and also the 'i'm typing but nothing is showing up until i tap the text field a couple times' problem is still there. it's like they threw this keyboard support together and never even tried to use it for a day.

You blaming Apple or Swiftkey? I use Swype and it works great.

Did you disable the built-in keyboards? This issue occurred on 8.0 as well if you turned of the built-in keyboard. Apple blocks third-party keyboards when the phone is locked, so if you you've turned off the default keyboard, you just get nothingness.

i'm blaming Apple. because the issue when sending an image from Photos to a Messages contact where the To: field is bumped off the top when using a 3rd party keyboard happens with Swype too, and so does the freezing and the text not showing up in the text box until i tap on it again once or twice.

when i start having problems that are specific to one keyboard, i'll blame the developer. these issues have continued to happen with swype after i ditched swiftkey a few days ago. it's the OS.

Yup it's disabled. Until this gets fixed I'm just reverting back to the apple keyboard and I'll go back to swiftkey when it's fixed.

I still like using SwiftKey. But still don't notice anytgjng that was fixed.

The top items I feel like they need to fix are:

Using 3rd party keyboards in lock screen.

Scrolling to most recent message when opening a text.

Swype prior to update kept reverting back to apple "English" keyboard. Now it seems to stay the default keyboard. Update seems to have fixed the issue.

Check that, happening just as much on 8.0.2. Three times in the last hour. Back to the built-in keyboard. Maybe when 8.1 rolls around…

I'm having the same issues with 3rd party keyboards as before.

What exactly was this update supposed to fix?

I filed two bug reports in Apple Bug Reporter for two issues regarding the 3rd party keyboards.

  1. The To: field is chopped off when sending portrait mode pics only. Landscape works properly.
  2. The bottom of the conversation is being chopped off when you select a conversation. The apple keyboard slides up properly under the last message.

using a 5S

Still having the "not scrolling to most recent message" when using swype. Swype also sometimes takes a few seconds and presses before I can use it.
