It looks like my venerable 2011 MBP is in need of a battery replacement.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with the third party options out there for batteries?

Thanks!

One of the biggest complaints found on macrumours is about how rubbish cheap third party batteries are. Either they give bad battery life or give up the ghost after a few short months, there can also be safety issues with real cheap knock offs.

I personally never reccomend anyone uses a 3rd party battery if they can avoid it, try ifixit or OWC for the real deal but you will be looking at $90-$120 for anything worth having.

I would look at Anker. I been buying stuff from them for ages with battery packs, cables and etc and they never let me down so far.

The Anker looks interesting, but it doesn't appear that they make one compatible with 2011 and later models, only earlier.
