as i understand the new MBP takes 1066mhz ddr3 ram. from the looks of it i can't really buy 2x2gb ram at this speed for any cheaper than i can pay for the upgrade when you configure one on the apple website..

am i thinking correctly?

in any case, where are yous guys finding the best deal for MBP compatible 2x2gb matched pair?

The thing is, when you upgrade from Apple, they take out the 2GB that was in there and install 4GB, leaving you with 4GB total. If you buy it separately, you end up with 6GB total for about the same price.

The only difference is that it's faster, right?
