I noticed that several retailers that used to carry stainless steel models no longer carry them. Best Buy, B and H Photo Video are the two i used to buy stainless steel watches in the past at the very good discounts. Now it seems like there will be no opportunity to buy stainless steel watch at any discount as Apple remains the only seller. Has anyone noticed the same?

What we’re starting to see is a transition away from the stainless models being sold, as there’s a very small demographic who want those watches at a high price point. I also suspect economy has something to do with this as well, being consumers are not willing to spend that kind of money for smart watch, Which is probably affecting Apples production numbers compared to how the first Gen stainless was sold out for nearly 8 months if you recall back in April 2015.

Furthermore, I suspect that retailers also will only keep the S.S in stock at various times throughout the year, but as we get closer to a new model launch, why would they restock them with a new watch imminent?

That is indeed a big bummer cause I never paid full price for SS models (usually got them for close to 50% off) as I would get them on a clearance when newer models were announced.
