I previously used Acronis True Image to access all 3tb on my XP Machine. When I took it from my XP Machine and put the drive in an external enclosure. The iMac only reads 801.57 GB and not the full 3tb.

Are there any settings that I need to change in order to use/view the full 3tb?

Thanks,

What could you possibly need all that porn for?

Lol I'm jk. Seriously though, what are you using 3000 GB for? That's insane.

There should not be a problem with the iMac reading the full 3TB. I installed a 3TB Seagate HDD in my 2009 iMac and there hasn't been an issue. Which iMac do you have? Do you still have the XP machine? Which brand HDD did you buy and what type is it?
I would recommend reformatting the hard drive with your XP machine since you were able to recognize the volume's full capacity. The once it's reformatted, reconnect it to the iMac and see if disk utility will recognize it again.

I know you were joking about the possibility of a real *******, but I had all of my media(dvd backups, tv shows, photos, home movies) on my internal 320GB HDD and 2 externals(a 1TB WD Mybook, and a 500GB WD) Now I don't have to have an external HDD at all. Of the 3TB capacity, I now have 1.8TB available. So now I can backup the rest of my DVDs.
