I have four 3TB Hitatchi drives total, and two sets of striped RAID O. So I have two 6GB striped sets.

When my computer goes to sleep and I wake it up, the striped sets take a lot longer to wake up than what I think is normal. For example, I wake my mac and I can see both drives in finder and all the root level folders, but when I click on one of the root level folders, the data doesn't show up for about 7-10 seconds or so. I do not have "put hard disc to sleep when possible" checked in system preferences.

I use to have a 2TB Caviar Black drive and it never took that long. It was only a single drive though.

Is this normal and does the stripe set have something to do with it?
