4.0.1 SHSH Blobs

I was able to backup my 4.0.1 SHSH Blobs at 6pmCST last night according to cydia and TinyUmbrella is this normal I was able to get the blobs even after 4.0.2 was released? or did It just grab a 4.0.2 SHSH Blob even though 4.0.1 is installed?
 
The window stays open for a seemingly random amount of time, this is normal..
 
You probably did get your 4.0.1 blobs. Apple may still be signing them. But probably not for long.
 
You could still do them even a few hours ago, AFAIK. I happened to check mine, and for some reason I only saved 4.0, so I attempted to save 4.0.1 and they were saved a few hours ago.
 
Thanks for the reassurance, Had talked my wife into getting hers last night so when I got it from AT&T and it was 4.0.1 I was happy and hurried home to backup the SHSH and jailbreak.

One more question, im reading that if you had cydia save your 3.1.2 or whatever version on a 3GS Cydia automatically grabs for 4.0.1 etc even if its not installed? is this true?

Yes, once you save first set, Suarik's server grabs the hashes for all subsequent firmware versions.
 
wanna kno what i noticed thats weird as well

i have a jailbroken iphone4 running 4.0

on cydia it says that it has SHSH on file for 4.0.1

how is that possible if i never upgraded to 4.0.1 b4?

just seemed a little odd to me

You don't have to be on a specific FW to request a hash for it.
 
I dont understand the whole SHSH blob thing. I'm exchanging my 16GB iphone for a 32GB iphone today. I'm assuming it WONT have 4.0.2 on it, but will I run into any issues with jailbreaking? Sorry, I'm a noob :)
 
the only issue you will run into is if you need to restore later on you wont be able to restore to 4.0.1 because shsh singing will not be on cydia... Try it anyways the window might still be open.
 
so i'm on a 3gs new boot room 3.1.2 and i want to upgrade to 4.0.1

Downloaded the iOS 4.0.1 and i was able to get the SHSH for 4.0.1 from tiny umbrella. I started the TSS server and went into itunes and shift click restore and chose the correct iOS. But i get "error occurred (3014)" what gives?

If this error is after it appears the phone restored 90% of the way and then errors out it is normal. Press on TinyUmbrella "Kick iPhone out of DFU" I did a restore last night and it worked perfectly
 
it happens before it even starts the restore. Like it's calling on apple for the sigs I see the TSS catching it but then i just get this 3014 error before it can start. I'm updating my itunes since it's still on 9.0.xx so maybe that will fix it.

perhaps but i would doubt it has to do with the iTunes version. I used mac last night when i did it and it worked fine make sure you press "Start TSS Server" if it doesnt work you can manually add sauriks server to your hosts file.
 
glad to hear, when it gives an error after it restores, It will appear to go about 90% and then error on iTunes and still be in DFU mode, use Tiny Umbrella to kick it out of DFU.

itunes version 9.2 minimum is a pre-requisite for ios version 4.
 
my iphone4 came with 4.0.1, i used jailbreakme yesterday and it still saved my 4.0.1 shsh :) thanks saurik!
 
I hurriedly jb'd my 3gs w/4.0 and saved the blobs - is there any reason I should upgrade to 4.0.1 or just leave well enough alone?

4.0.1 will give you more accurate bars and raises the lowest signal the phone can use before it says No Service.
