after the 4.0 update my head-unit in my car keeps reading and disconnecting from the phone.who else is having a problem with this ?

Doesn't work anymore with the iSimple unit on my '04 Acura TL. I'm hoping the company releases a firmware update soon that fixes the issue.

so my old iphone with 3.1 works with the headunit but the 4.0 doesn't , i dont understand why apple had to do this to me

My head unit is factory in my Mustang with MS Sync ... And it actually works better than my older iPhone. GPS/iPod voiceover is perfect via bluetooth, and I tried the USB connection as well.

You didn't specify, but if it's bluetooth then you could try "Forgetting Device" and then trying a brand new reconnect.

Mine is working fine... iPhone 4 and Pioneer F700BT. The album artwork is also showing up correctly when zoomed in, instead of all pixle-ee like it used to be on my 3GS.

after reading about other people with had the same problem and fixed it by doing a reboot of the phone i decided to try it and after a reboot everything is back to normal :)

I was concerned that my 2008 OEM Mercedes iPod integration unit would have trouble with either iOS4 or the iPhone 4 (my 3GS would play audio through the system and the "read out data" through the instrument panel display in the speedometer worked well but the phone wouldn't charge...I complained to my dealer that a 2008 Mercedes couldn't charge a 2009 iPhone so they replaced the cable with the newer USB charger tip and it charged perfectly...My concerns were laid to rest when the iPhone 4 worked perfectly and in fact sounds better and seems to work better all around including better Bluetooth connection...needless to say, I was a happy camper...:D

There's an active discussion about iOS 4 compatibility with car audio on the Apple Discussions site.

Seems like a lot of people are having problems with their car stereos not working correctly with iOS 4.

I'm lucky that mine (the system that came with my 2010 GTI with a built-in iPod connector) continues to work. :D

thanks, turns out i have to reset my phone often in order for it to work, its still having issues

well my phone barely worked in my car before, but now its perfect... using the stock Boston Acoustic head-unit in the new Camaro
