I beta test apps for a friend of mine and am on his developers list. I wish to update my iphone to enable me to test his apps on 4.0.

Can i update via windows and has anyone done this as i have read some people say you can but other say you can't.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Nope, you can't. One of the betas for iTunes will offer support for Windows, until then you're SOL. Or you could just use your "friend's" Mac to get the beta installed.

Do not work. This is on the :apple: dev forum. Plenty of people complained but you SHOULD use a Mac anyway

Development for iPhone is done on a Mac, not windows.

Use a Mac.

Understood - but a lot of beta testing of iPhone OS is done by corp uses that care about Exchange and security features while not actually developing apps.

I get why the SDK is mac only and I'm fine with Win iTunes being a lower priority but it's not unreasonable to hope they sort it out soon and it sure should be more clearly spelled out on the portal.
