4.1 - Able to reinstall 4.1, jailbreak, restore from old backup?

As the title states, can I reinstall 4.1, jailbreak using greenpois0n and then restore my itunes backup from say 2 weeks ago? I've searched but am finding mixed answers, and from years ago.

Also, anyone find Cydia has been slow the past day or so ? Any action where data is transmitted seems to be taking minutes instead of seconds

You would need to have the SHSH saved for 4.1 to do this.

I have them saved, the main thing I'm not sure about is if I reinstall 4.1, then jailbreak and restore from backup, if it will keep my jailbreak or if the whole thing is pointless?
