I have read that if you use a 5,1 backplane with a 4,1 tray, it will cause the fans to run full speed. But what happens if you use a 5,1 tray with the 4,1 backplane?
I ask because I bought a 5,1 tray by accident and need to know if it will work, or if I need the 5,1 backplane to go with it.
Also, is the firmware stored on the tray, or on backplane? Meaning if I put the 5,1 tray in my 4,1 will it be a 4,1 or a 5,1?
