If you create a poll add the option "Made it worse"

Yes. Create a poll please. Give us several options such as:
Made it perfect.
Much better, but still having problems
Only a little better
No improvement
Made it worse

With so many fan-bois infesting this place because for some reason God only knows they have invested mental stock in Jobs, this poll will get skewed by those not having the problem saying it is fixed.

"Much better, but still having problems." That's where my is at the moment. And your options are much, much better than this poll's Yes or No. That's just about as useless as a lawyer asking you on the stand to only answer yes or no.

Should have a "never had an issue, now have an issue" option. My phone's prox sensor was fine before, but on 4.1 it misbehaves terribly (it switches back on if the phone moves about 5mm away from my ear now) and visibly glows red. Given that it's an ostensibly IR-only diode, the update must've cranked its output horribly as part of the fix for it to be giving out this much visible red light.

It didn't fix anything a bunch of hype from apple. The 2 calls I made after installing 4.1 the first one I put them on face time. The second or should I say third I hung up on and put the thing on mute. A big FAIL!!!!. Thats what the get for messing with a proven design. they shouldnt have moved it just to put a camera there the camera could have been further over.

I had the problem before the 4.1 update.

I just had a call, and my screen was flashing on and off worse than ever before.

No, 4.1 did not fix anything relating to the Proximity sensor.

For extra measure, I reset my phone and erased everything. Still no good.

It's much worse for me after the update. This is the first time I have touched the Mute button during the call. I'm just using it as I normally have. Nothing new.

Maybe I'll give Apple a ring tomorrow about it, because this definitely isn't going to work out.

I've done two full erase and resets on the phone.

My proximity sensor is still not working. This is so frustrating. I'm on hold with Apple right now to vent my frustration. Going on 16 minutes now, so I wonder if others are calling for the same thing.

I just got off the phone with them. Their advice was to restore the device. If that doesn't work, then they said that I would have to send it in to be serviced. I hope it works.

thankfully, i never had an issue.

this is clearly somehow hardware related.

EDIT: Actually, it seems that I am now having proximity issues when I wasn't previously. damnit. i'm going to downgrade if this continues.

EDIT 2: it doesn't seem to turn off the screen at all sometimes when i put it to my ear now.

agan no issues before 4.1, now pretty bad issues.
