4.1 Turns O2 into TESCO !

Just updated to 4.1 and as a Tesco Mobile iPhone 4 owner was 'delighted' to see it now shows Tesco rather than O2!.

My frugality is there for all to see!

o2 and Tesco us the same masts etc for signal, so that might have been the issue before.

well tesco is really using o2's payg network, but the carrier logo was always o2

Just updated my iphone 4 to the latest 4.1 and have notised instead of it saying 02-uk (im on tesco) it now reads as Tesco

Not a huge deal but just thought I would let tesco owners know.

Cant wait to check out game center!

both links work fine on my machine and also the laptop.

could have just scrolled down the front page or used the search.....

did you read my post? I said I cant see it in the list at all ... :S I have found the second link you have just edited in the post though and that works... so why is the 1st sending me to the front page...

edit: thanks mods for merging the threads appreciate it.

And just tried your link in chrome and it worked fine ... -_- so why isnt safari letting me see it properly.. oh well

Why, you chose Tesco as you didnt want Orange etc so deal with it showing who YOU chose?

Tesco is on O2s network. GiffGaff is too...however it still says O2-UK for GiffGaff

Fixed!

I have worked out a fix for this.

ensure your iphone is jailbroken - For iphone 4.1 please visit www.limera1n.com
ensure your iphone has ssh installed (if not install OpenSSH from Cydia)
ssh to your iphone - login (username=root, password=alpine)
Enter the following commands

cd /System/Library/Carrier\ Bundles/
unlink 23410_GID1-0AFFFF
ln -s O2_UK.bundle/ 23410_GID1-0AFFFF
