I posted on the general update thread but any one else finding that the mute button on the new ipad upgrade gives graphic on screen but does not mute sound .... I was running ipod music track??

ITs for vibration and other iOS sounds not for music playback. Similar to the mute on the iphone. when you turn it on you can still play music.

It's for when your iPad is in sleep mode but otherwise plays alert sounds, such as in a meeting or in a classroom setting. Just flick the switch to "off" without a need to open the case and switch the iPad "on."
