i already the software saved on my hard drive but did apple remove 4.2.1 from there developers website ? i haven't been home in almost a week and i just logged on and couldn't find the download section for the firmware am i doing something wrong ?

4.2.1 is the official release of 4.2, that's what it's known as for the public

I just logged on, and it looks like you're right -- it's gone. I'm not sure why you need it though; the downloaded version on iTunes is the same as the 4.2.1 GM.
