Using redsnow 2.7 and the right firmware, but everytime I at the end it doesn't show cydia. I use the left shift + restore select the 4.2.8 firmware and it asks me if I want to back it up from my previous save or start a new phone, however no cydia. I get no error messages btw...

Any help?

Um, are you sure you're jailbreaking properly? First off, redsn0w only supports tethered jailbreak for 4.2.7 and 4.2.8. In order to do this, when it asks you to browse for the ipsw, you have to select the 4.2.6 ipsw instead.

If you want untethered, you're going to have to use sn0wbreeze (if on Windows) or PwnageTool + ih8sn0w's 4.2.8 bundle (if on Mac).

whats wrong with 4.2.6??
Nothing. However, 4.2.7 contains some security fixes, and 4.2.8 tweaked how location caching works.

lol got it to work finally...yea I meant 2.7 snowbreeze...I misunderstood the orginally 4.2.8 firmware for the jb one so I kept on restoring it with the originally firmware.

Well everything is fine now.
